Celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Festival: A Day of Culture, Joy, and Community

On Sunday, July 7, Kensico Dam Plaza in Valhalla was transformed into a vibrant celebration of Hispanic culture during the Hispanic Heritage Festival. Organized by Alianza Latina, this event brought together families, friends, and community members to honor the richness and diversity of Hispanic heritage through music, food, art, dance, and much more.
Festival Highlights
From noon until 6:00 pm, attendees enjoyed a variety of experiences that showcased the beauty and diversity of Hispanic cultures. Live music was a standout feature, with performances by renowned artists including:
- Jimena Duran, a talented singer from Chile who captivated the audience with her unique voice and musical style.
- Ráyela Cruz, who delivered an emotive tribute to the legacy of Selena, touching everyone with her heartfelt performance.
- Grupo Mariachi Voz de México NYC, filling the air with vibrant mariachi music that transported everyone to Mexico with their melodies.
- Celinda Vera, “La Novia de Apurimac,” who delighted the crowd with her talent and passion for traditional Peruvian music.
- Grupo Folclórico y Cultural Dominicano de Yonkers, offering a colorful and energetic display of Dominican Republic dances and traditions.
- DNX4 Official, known as the New Generation of Bachata, who got everyone dancing with their infectious and high-energy rhythms.
- Grupo Folclórico Acuarelas del Perú, showcasing the cultural and artistic richness of Peru through their traditional dances and attire.
More Than a Celebration
The Hispanic Heritage Festival was more than just an event; it was a powerful reminder of the cultural impact of honoring Hispanic roots. El domingo 7 de julio, Kensico Dam Plaza en Valhalla se transformó en una vibrante celebración de la cultura hispana durante el Festival de la Herencia Hispana. Organizado por Alianza Latina, este evento reunió a familias, amigos y miembros de la comunidad para honrar la riqueza y diversidad de la herencia hispana a través de la música, la comida, el arte, la danza y mucho más.
Atractivos del Festival
Desde el mediodía hasta las 6:00 pm, los asistentes disfrutaron de una variedad de experiencias que destacaron la belleza y diversidad de las culturas hispanas. La música en vivo fue uno de los puntos culminantes, con actuaciones de destacados artistas como:
