Walking for Wellness: UCCW Joins NAMIWalks Westchester in Support of Mental Health

At the United Community Center of Westchester, Inc., we believe mental health is essential to overall well-being. That’s why our team proudly participated in NAMIWalks Westchester 2025, a community event that brings awareness, hope, and action to the forefront of the mental health movement.
This walk was more than just steps—it was a declaration. A declaration that mental health matters, and that no one should face emotional challenges alone.
Mental Health: A Collective Commitment
Joining hundreds of individuals, families, advocates, and organizations, the UCCW team walked side by side with those affected by mental health conditions. Together, we raised awareness about the importance of early intervention, support systems, and accessible mental health services.
Our participation reflects UCCW’s continued efforts to:
- Break the stigma around mental illness
- Promote open conversations about emotional well-being
- Connect community members with supportive resources
- Advocate for a more inclusive, understanding, and healthier society
A Day Full of Energy and Hope
From the moment we arrived at the walk, the atmosphere was full of unity, determination, and compassion. Despite any challenges or stress we face in daily life, walking together reminded us of the strength we hold as a community.
Whether it was team chants, shared stories, or moments of silence in honor of loved ones, every step reflected a shared commitment to healing and growth.

Por eso, nuestro equipo participó con orgullo en NAMIWalks Westchester 2025, una caminata comunitaria que inspira conciencia, esperanza y acción en favor de la salud emocional.
Este evento fue mucho más que una caminata: fue una afirmación colectiva de que la salud mental importa y que nadie debería enfrentar sus desafíos emocionales en soledad.
Una causa que nos une
Junto a cientos de personas, familias, profesionales y organizaciones, caminamos con el corazón puesto en la causa. Nuestra participación reafirma el compromiso de UCCW con:
- Romper el estigma asociado a los trastornos mentales
- Fomentar espacios de conversación abiertos y sin prejuicios
- Conectar a la comunidad con recursos de apoyo emocional
- Promover una sociedad más empática, informada y saludable
Energía, esperanza y comunidad

En UCCW, la salud mental es una prioridad. A través de talleres, grupos de apoyo como Entre Amigas, actividades terapéuticas, asesorías y espacios de escucha, seguimos trabajando para brindar contención y bienestar emocional a quienes más lo necesitan.
La salud mental es salud. Caminemos, hablemos y avancemos juntos hacia un futuro más humano y saludable.
