United Community Center of Westchester, Inc. (UCCW) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit community-based organization with the purpose of providing quality social, economic, and community development services to those who face financial, educational, health, language, or cultural barriers to realizing their dreams. We are community-oriented, welcoming people of all ages and diverse cultures, and assisting residents of New Rochelle and surrounding areas. We are an open-door facility where individuals can walk in and feel comfortable addressing their circumstances. Our work involves a blend of direct service provision and advocacy. We have adapted to accommodate all languages and will devote time and patience to ensure our clients are understood and guided accordingly.
“Generosity is the most beautiful form of gratitud.”

HOW WE DO IT
Our team works seamlessly from the moment someone walks in and is greeted by our intake coordinator to when they sit with a case manager for a deeper understanding of their needs. Our staff documents and saves all visits in a database, as well as in a hard copy file, for future reference. We continuously collaborate with neighboring centers, hospitals, clients, law firms, and other organizations to ensure optimal assistance is provided to those in need. We are honored to support more than five hundred individuals and families each month.
Our UCCW clients include ‘walk-ins’ and referrals from local organizations and government offices, such as law enforcement, city courts, schools, churches, domestic violence centers, medical centers/hospitals, hotlines, and housing agencies. Our goal is to strengthen the neighborhood we all love by building partnerships to invest in and develop permanent solutions that empower low-income individuals, families, at-risk children, youth, battered women, seniors, immigrants, and people with disabilities to overcome obstacles, as we strive for greater opportunities throughout all of Westchester.
OUR ANNUAL IMPACT 2023
WHY WE DO IT
We are committed to treating everyone who enters our offices with dignity and respect. Our values guide us to deliver all services in a professional and compassionate manner.
Our team is dedicated to serving our community members, including immigrants and native-born residents, through an organization that simplifies navigating a complex system. We are always committed to helping low-income families and individuals improve their quality of life and promote healthy integration into the community.
The frustration, isolation, and fear faced by immigrants due to language, education, and health barriers create severe economic and social disruptions, leading to vulnerability to legal issues, homelessness, malnutrition, abuse, discrimination, family dissolution, and severe health complications.
